BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - FLEXIBLE PACKAGING

£40-55K (DOE) + Car Allowance + 24 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + private medical care & life insurance

Our client is a flexible packaging manufacturer of flexo printed laminate films and lidding films for the food industry; dual ovenable, freezable, cold and hot peelable, barrier, printed and antifog.

They are currently looking for a centrally based Business Development Manager to join their team, the role will be 65% Existing Client Account Management 35% New Business.

Role / Responsibilities:

  • Active upselling and cross selling
  • Identify and qualify new opportunities within existing customer base
  • Support the decision process through data and information on market and relevant competitors
  • Building and maintaining excellent relationships between customers and the company
  • Achieving sales growth and profit targets
  • New business development from prospecting, through the sales funnel to conversion and building loyalty
  • Visit end-user contacts to present the company portfolio range and analyse potential demand and needs of client
  • Co-ordinate with colleagues and internal customers in sales office concerning sales volume and pricing
  • Propose local promotional activities in co-operation with Marketing and Business Unit Managers showcase the value of the companies' packaging solutions, managing the sales process and winning new customers
  • Initiating regular NPD meetings with current and prospective customers
  • Creating quarterly, monthly and weekly sales plans and forecasts, and prioritising and scheduling own activities
  • Keeping up-to-date with market trends & competitor analysis
  • Securing agreements for harmonised sales policies for prospective accounts
  • Proposing promotional activities in co-operation with our marketing and business unit leaders
