Monday to Friday - 39 hours per week

Our client are a leading closed-loop packaging solutions manufacturer. They supply all of the top Global companies in Food, Beverage, Household and Personal Care categories. They require a Quality Control Manager to lead the Quality Control Team (4 direct reports), responsible for the monitoring, measurement, analysis and improvement of all company processes, ensuring that all departments are meeting the standards of quality management system and the highest possible quality product is being delivered to customers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To liaise with Production Managers on Quality Control and ensure that quality standards are maintained
  • To ensure that departmental KPI targets are met, implementing any changes to achieve the required quality and meet set targets
  • Provide Production and Senior Management with weekly and monthly reports that highlight:
  • All customer complaints
  • Scrap by department
  • Personnel issues
  • Any failure of management to deal with production department quality issues
  • To ensure that each department and Production Managers are fully aware of the latest situation with regards to customer complaints, production scrap and CPARs
  • To ensure all new recruits have been fully inducted on the quality, Food Safety issues and company procedures
  • To hold weekly complaints meetings to assess and solve any outstanding complaints in a timely manner
  • To organise, prepare and attend all EQM presentations for the company and present at monthly production meetings
  • To ensure QMS & FSMS are kept fully up to date
  • To ensure the accuracy of all data collected by the production departments, CPAR database, scrap database, customer complaints database etc
  • Support, investigate and resolve customer complaints caused by all central departments
  • Develop QC strategy and plan in conjunction with the Management Team to a level of detailed implementation
  • To ensure all internal/external audits are carried out to the audit plan using relevant trained personnel

Specialised knowledge required (Education and experience):

  • Understanding of printing / packaging or food/drinks or household / personal care manufacturing operations and process' and/or have worked in a similar industry sector
  • ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 Audit qualification and experience
  • Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions
  • Looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answer
