PRODUCTION MANAGER - TIMBER PACKAGING

Our client is a manufacturer of Timber Packaging Solutions, they are currently looking to recruit a Production Manager to join their Production Department to continue the growing success of the business. You will be supporting the Managing Director for a range of operational duties ensuring to analyse the current position and develop new strategies for two main areas (Case Making & Logistics) at the site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Circa 10 Direct Reports
• Take full responsibility of the Crate and Pallet Operations and manage the department
• Studying / Engineering (product development and quotation)
• Production plan organisation and management
• Production process optimisation
• Customers transportation / deliveries management (in house driver)
• Material purchasing and management
• Facility and machinery Maintenance management
• Health & Safety and Team training
• Uphold and support quality, environment and health & safety policies
• Participate to new process elaboration
• Overseeing new processes / procedures to optimise production capacity
• Manage data collection for the updating of metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in leading Operations teams in a senior leadership role
• Proven track record in heavy industry operations and manufacturing
• Manufacturing / Operations / Business degree or relevant equivalent qualification
• Lean qualification or knowledge gained through experience
• Strong personal credibility with the ability to build trusted relationships
• Ability to lead and sponsor a lean / CI programme site wide
• Advanced interpersonal, negotiation, communication and influencing skills
• Exceptional judgement and demonstrated ability to make sound decisions
