Our client is a leading manufacturer of bespoke luxury packaging and premium printed folded cartons, from initial concept through to mass production, they sell the full range of products including cartons / boxes, bags, paper and ribbons into a variety of market sectors including fashion, beauty & cosmetics, jewellery and spirits / beverage.

They are currently looking for a Packaging Production Manager to join their team. You will be overseeing all aspects of the procurement of packaging including the planning, coordination, and implementation of production processes. This role requires a strong understanding of packaging factories, as well as focus on efficiency, quality control and team leadership. The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review all projects currently in production to ensure they are completed on-time, on-spec and on-budget
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement process improvements to meet production goals
• Lead, mentor, and train packaging personnel, fostering a culture of collaboration and safety
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
• Analyse workflow and identify bottlenecks, implementing strategies to enhance productivity and reduce waste
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure reliable operation of packaging machinery
• Ensure packaging meets company and industry quality standards by conducting regular inspections and audits
• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for packaging processes
• Oversee inventory levels for packaging materials and coordinate with procurement to ensure availability
• Manage and optimise storage and distribution of finished products
• Ensure all packaging operations comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Stay informed of industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact packaging processes
• Work closely with R&D, marketing, and logistics teams to develop and implement new packaging solutions
• Participate in product development meetings to provide packaging insights and support

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in packaging production, with 5 years managerial
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, processes, and machinery
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams effectively
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and packaging management software
