Shift Pattern 4 On / 4 Off - 2 days then 2 nights

Our client is a leading family-owned corrugated packaging company, they are involved in the conversion of Corrugated Sheets into Corrugated Cartons.

Due to the continued growth, they are currently looking for high motivated Machine Operators to join the team. They are looking for candidates who are reliable, and willing to learn how to use all equipment within the plant that is fully automated. Full on the job training will be provided for machinery operation and maintenance.

The following machinery they are looking to recruit operators on are:

  • Material Handling System and associated software
  • Flexo Folder Gluers
  • Rotary Die cutters
  • Multi Point Gluers
  • Flat Bed Die cutters
  • Box Makers and associated Finishing Equipment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate in line with Health and Safety regulations set out in the training
  • Ensure that the machine is producing quality product at all times
  • Ensure all maintenance and housekeeping is carried out and recorded
  • Strive to hit all your KPI`s daily (Runspeed, set times, downtime, 5S, Quality and waste)
  • Work within a team and communicate well even under pressure, and take full responsibility for the quality of product and team when responsible
  • Communicate with responsible person any health and safety issues, maintenance issues or matters of concern on the floor
  • Be at the machine ready to operate promptly at the time of start and hand over to incoming colleague in a comprehensive manner
  • Leave your machine as you would expect to find it (Clean and tidy, paperwork in order, tooling etc)
  • Use PPE and wear appropriate clothing as provided. (This may include in time a uniform, and may include abiding by jewellery policies etc that may become applicable through further certifications the company decides to undertake)
  • Any other reasonable request by management

Requirements:

  • Previous experience operating any of the above machinery
  • Should have previous experience in a modern manufacturing environment
  • Strong levels of initiative with a 'can do' attitude
  • Willingness to operate a forklift following correct training
  • Willingness to partake in First Aid and Fire awareness training
  • Reasonable English skills are required to safely and efficiently carry out this role
  • High levels of Health and Safety awareness
  • Strong Communication (Written and Verbal), Teamworking Skills, Technical Skills, IT and Numerical Skills and Organisational Skills
  • Reasonable physical exertion within health and safety regulations
