KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER (DRINKS PACKAGING)

Location: South Coast to London (Home/Field based)

Salary: £40-48K + Company Car + Pension + Benefits

An independently owned business providing high-quality packaging solutions to the UK Food & Drinks industry are seeking a Southern based Key Account Manager to manage and grow relationships with customers in the alcoholic drinks sector. Work collaboratively to develop strategic growth plans. Meet/exceed annual sales and retention targets within the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute retention and growth strategies based on market trends and customer needs.
  • Identify and prioritise customers for growth, achieving volume, value, and margin goals.
  • Manage pricing, margins, and P&L for the sector.
  • Own forecasting by sector and customer, communicating with Material Development and Planning teams.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers via face-to-face, video, phone, or email.
  • Understand customer product lines and future needs to support commercial growth.
  • Communicate pricing and lead times to aid customer decision-making.
  • Stay updated on market changes and introduce the company to new market entrants.
  • Provide commercial and technical support to customers.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong collaborative working and customer focus.
  • Commercially aware with strategic decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of the FMCG manufacturing industry, especially food, drink, and packaging sectors.
  • Familiarity with packaging materials, Good Manufacturing Practice, bottling line technologies, Quality Assurance & Control, ISO standards, and food safety legislation.
  • Understanding of product development processes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driving licence.
  • Occasional travel to Europe.
