Our client is an independent market leader in the design and manufacture of a wide range of transit packaging from timber, bespoke, heavy duty and corrugated packaging. They are committed to delivering an unrivalled service underpinned by a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise.

They are currently looking to recruit for a senior position as Head of Sales. You will lead the sales team to maximise the sales potential by creating and delivering sales plans and marketing strategies that deliver results inline with the overall business strategy. For this role you will be continuously analysing market trends and consumer behaviours to support the development of strategies to boost sales.

Within the role you will be ensuring you meet the customer needs and maintain the high level of customer service they offer within the business whilst also looking to develop additional sales or further opportunities with new and existing customers. You will personally be responsible for overseeing the sales of a portfolio of key customer accounts with a wide variety of requirements, needs and spends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and communicate key performance indicators and targets with your sales team and the Executive Management Team
  • Oversee, structure and manage the Sales Department to ensure targets are achieved and individual and team performance is monitored
  • Lead the Sales Team to achieve or exceed objectives and goals you have set them
  • Lead and motivate a sales team of Designers, Estimators, Sales Coordinators and Account Managers to develop customer relations and increase market share and sales revenue
  • Recruit, coach, train, set objectives and monitor the performance of the whole sale team
  • Ensure all people within your Sales Team are trained to fully understand our products and services and also the message we wish to promote into our market place
  • Strategic Thinking, Planning and Reporting
  • Generating New Business and Account Management
  • Ensuring Key Customer Service
  • Management Duties

Requirements:

  • Must have a proven record of external sales/territory management experience
  • Must have worked within a manufacturing and technical sales role
  • Strategic Planning and Market Analysis Experience
  • Sales Process Management Experience
  • Leadership and People Management Skills
  • Knowledge of B2B Sales in Manufacturing - ideally the packaging industry
  • Technical/Design Led Sales Background
  • Proficient in CRM/Data Analysis
  • Minimum of 2 years in a sales leadership role
  • Results orientated
  • A confident decision marker and problem resolver
  • Adaptable to business and market needs
  • Excellent Communicator - Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
