HANDS-ON PRODUCTION MANAGER - CORRUGATED PACKAGING

Salary Guide: Up to Circa £45K (Depending on Experience)
Working Hours: 8am till 5pm Monday to Thursday & 8am till 2pm Friday
Our client is a corrugated sheet plant with a turnover of around £4Million, they are undergoing significant investment including brand new machinery and have exciting growth plans
They are currently looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Hands-On Production Manager to lead their production team in a fast-paced corrugated packaging environment.
This role requires a highly organised, proactive, and hands-on individual who can oversee daily production processes, maintain quality standards, and ensure efficient machine operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven experience in the packaging industry, and the ability to lead by example.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily production activities, ensuring all operations meet quality, efficiency, and productivity targets
- Operate and maintain corrugated packaging machinery as needed
- Troubleshoot and resolve any machine-related issues to minimise downtime and maintain workflow
- Supervise and lead production staff, including setting performance goals, providing training, and ensuring team members adhere to health, safety, and production standards
- Monitor product quality and ensure finished products meet client specifications and company standards
- Plan and organise production schedules based on order priorities, deadlines, and machine availability, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimal waste
- Work with maintenance teams to schedule and perform preventive maintenance on equipment, ensuring machines are operating at optimal levels
- Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety checks to maintain a safe work environment for all staff
- Manage materials and supply inventory, tracking usage and coordinating with procurement to ensure materials are on hand for scheduled production runs
- Identify areas for process improvements, implement changes, and drive initiatives
