Salary: £25,000 - £42,000, based on experience + Company car, phone, laptop, BUPA private health insurance, pension, and overtime at 1.5 X on weekends.
Hours of work are 8:30-17:00pm / flexible start times
Our client is a well established trusted name in packaging solutions with tailored solutions to meet the diverse needs of food packaging production worldwide. They are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer for the installation of packaging machinery lines. Providing technical assistance across the UK, Ireland, and into the Mediterranean. Additionally offering technical support to the sales department.

Responsibilities:
- Provide remote or on-site support for breakdown situations.
- Perform on-site commissioning as required.
- Conduct Operator and technical training at client sites or Company premises.
- Respond to on-site customer support requests, either individually or as part of a team.
- Understand and fulfil customer requirements, ensuring satisfaction before leaving the site.
- Report progress and follow-up work to the Service Manager before leaving the customer site.
- Prepare service parts for each job and ensure readiness before departure.
- Address any issues or shortages with service kits.
- Perform on-call and service duties as per the service rota.
- Assist with machine building or testing in the workshop.
- Continuously improve processes and services.
- Undertake additional duties as required by management.
- Stay updated with new technologies and procedures.
- Provide feedback on common problems and potential defects.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships.
- Potential travel to the Europe /Middle East/Northern Africa for technical support and training.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven multi-year experience in the field sector.
- Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic processes, with basic PLC functionality (programming not required).
- Familiarity with plastic or flexible packaging / filling and sealing machinery is advantageous.
- Ability to travel independently and excellent communication skills.
- Proactive team player with a strong problem-solving attitude.
- Availability for frequent travel on short notice (less than 24 hours for daily support) and longer periods (2-3 weeks).
- Excellent driving skills, with an average of 30,000 miles/year.
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Used to achieving performance targets set by management.
