Flexible shift patterns available Monday to Friday / 8 hour Days or Nights. Overtime and Weekend Availability.
Salary: £25 -£33K per year + Bonus scheme + Company pension + Free parking
Our client is looking to recruit a Digital Printer. Previous print experience is essential but full training on the specific press will be provided.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Operate the Xeikon Press and when required a GM Finishing Unit to produce self-adhesive labels.
- Ensure that labels are printed to the customers' exact specification i.e. quantity, technical specification, and colours and in accordance with customer's rewind instructions.
- When required, finish labels including die cutting, varnishing, and lamination and presenting labels on roll in accordance with rewind instructions.
- Ensure that density checks are undertaken after each job.
- Operate and provide cover for other Xeikon or GM Operators.
- Ensure that your press is kept clean and in good working order, reporting any machine problems to the Production Director/Production Controller.
- Assist in general factory routines as and when required.
- Ensure that your own immediate working environment is kept in good order with all materials used stored correctly and safely and in line with BRC and ISO 14001 environmental requirements.
- Ensuring that all policies for product quality, safety and hygiene are followed and that all incidents are reported immediately to Production Director/Production Controller.
Person Specification:
- Good knowledge of flexo/hot foil/finishing & digital routines.
- Self-motivated and practical.
- Strong PC skills.
- Well organised, with ability to effectively manage own time and prioritise work.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to produce jobs correctly and accurately first time.
- Good interpersonal skills, with ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people.
- Demonstrates a flexible approach to changing priorities and the ability to work under pressure, turn around jobs within an agreed time frame.
