CARTONS DIE CUTTING OPERATOR - SUBCLASS 482 VISA (2 YEARS - CANDIDATES CAN THEN APPLY FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCY)

AUS $70K EXC SUPER OR £78K INC SUPER + 4 Weeks paid Annual Leave per a year with additional 17.5% loading paid on top of base rate + 2 Weeks paid sick leave per a year

Overtime paid at 150% for the first 3 hours of overtime per shift, 200% for overtime hours beyond the first 3 + Weekends paid at 200% + 1.3 weeks long service leave accrued per a year, pro-rata entitlement at 7 years. Full entitlement at 10 years of service, giving 13 weeks of additional leave.

Our client is a leading cardboard packaging manufacturer in South Australia. They manufacture and print inhouse for a variety of brands covering the whole of Australia ensuring that they provide a high level of service while presenting high quality cardboard packaging and display solitons.

Due to the continued growth of the business, they are currently looking to recruit for a Cartons Die Cutting Operator to join their team. You will be responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining Bobst Visioncut and Bobst Expertcut Die Cutting Machines to ensure the effective production of high-quality cartons and packaging products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for overseeing an Offsider or Junior Operators within the team
  • Set up and operate Bobst Visioncut and Bobst Expertcut die-cutting machines according to job specifications
  • Overseeing and ensuring that production runs smoothly, meeting both quality and efficiency standards
  • Prepare cutting dies, plates, and materials for accurate and efficient operation
  • Monitor the die-cutting process to ensure high-quality output, making necessary adjustments to maintain precision
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the Bobst Visioncut and Expertcut machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly to maintain production efficiency
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet production specifications
  • Manage and maintain consumable stock levels (cutting dies, plates, etc.) and communicate supply needs to the relevant department
  • Supervise and mentor an offsider, providing guidance and training to ensure effective support in the die-cutting process
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting enhancements to systems and processes
  • Perform added tasks as required to support overall production goals and team efficiency

Requirements:

  • Previous experience operating Bobst Visioncut or Bobst Expertcut machines, or similar die-cutting machinery, is required
  • Strong mechanical ability with the skill to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality control
  • Ability to read & interpret production schedules, work orders and technical specifications
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently under deadlines
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the skill to train/mentor an offsider
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and handle repetitive tasks
  • Capability to lift and move materials as required
